An indredible battle for an upper hand in the Group A race saw Snaidero of Udine rally from behind on its home court Tuesday to win 90-86 against Russian champion Ural Great. It was an incredible game at PalaCarnera of Udine as Ural (2-3) led for 35 minutes but succumbed in a dramatic and inspired fourth period by Udine (3-2). As expected, Snaidero was led by veteran point guard Damir Mulaomerovic, who bagged 26 points including 6 of 11 threes. Just as exciting for the home fans were the performances of young talents Alexander Vujacic and Joel Zacchetti, who made the difference in the clutch. Vujacic netted 23 points and made 4 of 6 threes, while Zacchetti scored 11 with a decisve long-distnace shot in the final minutes. Former Ural Great center Mikhail Mikhailov contributed with 12 points and 5 boards in his debut with Snaidero. Aussie center Chris Anstey scored 27 points for Ural Great, while Ed Shannon contributed 25, Stevan Nadjfeji 13 and Valentin Koubrakov 14.

The game was balanced for all 40 minutes with Ural Great taking a slim lead at the buzzer of the first half thanks to Shannon's speed and ability to pass the ball in the open court. He had 15 points by halftime. Snaidero's defense wasn't so good in the first half, but was the key in the second as Mulaomerovic started to contain Shannon and the fight under the boards became balanced. Ural Great with Chris Anstey on fire in the third period improved its advantage until 56-61. But Snaidero was back to tie in the middle of the last period, 76-76, and went ahead in the last 3 minutes, mantaining the lead thanks a good accuracy from the free throw line.
