Bourg blasts Partizan in Belgrade
JL Bourg en Bresse led from start to finish en route to a resounding 76-89 road win over Partizan NIS Belgrade in the Serbian capital on Wednesday night. Bourg, which played its first games in more than two weeks, improved to 2-1 in Group A, while Partizan dropped to 2-3 on the season. Bourg opened a double-digit lead in the first quarter, quickly restored it in the second, and led by as many as 19 points before halftime. Partizan never got the deficit into single digits the rest of the way. Pierre Pelos shined with 28 points in 25 minutes, making 8 of 11 two-point shots and grabbing 7 rebounds. Danilo Andjusic netted 23 points and Alen Omic scored 10 in victory. Nemanja Gordic paced Partizan with 15 points and Marcus Paige scored 14. Eric Mika had 12 and Codi Miller-McIntyre 10 in a losing effort.
Maxime Courby opened the game with a triple and Zachery Peacock added a triple of his own to help the visitors open a 6-16 lead. Uros Trifunovic got Partizan's offense going with a corner triple, before a dunk from Mika and a three-pointer from Paige cut it to 16-18. Omic nailed a pair of baseline jumpers to keep Bourg ahead 19-22 after 10 minutes. Pelos hit back-to-back triples as the visitors started to pull away in the second. Pelos scored 6 more points to make it 28-42 before Miller-McIntyre hit triples for the hosts. Rashawn Thomas had a steal and a dunk for Partizan, but Bourg forced 12 turnovers before halftime and kept converting fastbreak points. Andjusic and Nemanja Dangubic traded three-pointers before more baskets from Andjusic, Courby and Peacock opened a 19-point margin. Bourg led 40-57 at the break.
Mika had a steal and a dunk for the hosts, but Andjusic fueled a 0-8 run that created a 44-65 margin midway through the third. Paige and Miller-McIntyre hit back-to-back threes in an 8-0 run to spark Partizan's hopes, but Andjusic scored 5 more points as the visitors led 58-74 going into the fourth quarter. Mika scored twice early in the fourth and a three-pointer from Paige cut it to 65-76. But that is as close as the hosts got. Thomas and Gordic scored from close range, but Pelos kept making buckets as Bourg closed it out.
First-half clinic
Bourg scored 57 points in the first half, shooting 76.2% on two-point shots (16 for 21) and 62.5% from long range (5 for 8). Bourg also forced 12 turnovers and had 7 steals before halftime, which all helped it to a 17-point halftime lead.
Key performer
Pierre Pelos was unstoppable in the second quarter when he scored 14 of his 28 points in the first 6 minutes of the second quarter. He did it on perfect shooting, making 4 of 4 on two-pointers and 2 of 2 from long range.
Homecoming king
Danilo Andjusic played in his hometown and against his former club, and had a performance he will remember with 23 points, 4 assists and 2 steals. he made 10 of 11 free throws.

Next week in Round 6, Bourg will be at home against Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul on Tuesday, November 3. Partizan will welcome the unbeaten Joventut Badalona the following evening.
