Union Olimpija escaped from the last spot in the NIJT Belgrade tournament following a 77-75 triumph over USK Future Stars Prague in the 7-8 classification game on Sunday morning. USK finish the games in the last place but lost the last two games only in the last minute and had a good overall performance. Luka Rupnik had a big performance with 27 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals, Ziga Dimec finished with 16 and Jure Gabrovsek added 13 with 4 steals and 4 assists. Martin Kriz led USK with 22 points and 8 rebounds while Dalibor Fait finished with 17 point and Tomas Kyzlink added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The game was tight from tip-off to buzzer. Olimpija tied the score at 19-19 with the first quarter buzzer, and later took a 30-22 lead, but Kyzlink bombed with a dunk and a two pointer to make it 38-36 at the half time break. Olimpija stayed on top but this time it was Kriz who dominated in the closing minutes of the third quarter to keep it a close game, all the way down to the last minute. Kyzlink with a slash to the rim made it just a one point game, but Olimpija held on to its lead with points from the foul line and defensive rebounds.
