Using its better long-range shooting to full advantage, Ratiopharm Ulm came back to post a double-digit road win, 69-78, over host Paris Levallois in Group C on Tuesday. Ulm lifted its record to 1-2 while Paris fell to 0-3 despite boasting advantages in every statistical category except three-point shooting and total points. Phillipp Schwethelm was example A for the winners, with all 12 of his points scored on 4-for-6 triples, one more made than the entire Paris team. Ulm shot 11 for 30 overall from downtown while Paris hit just 3 of 13 attempts. Will Cyburn added 11 points for the winners and Edgar Sosa 10. Jawad Williams had 22 points, 8 rebounds for Paris, while Daniel Ewing and Elton Brown contributed 14 each.

Paris got its groove on going inside early for a 14-6 jump-start on 3 layups already by Williams and 2 by Maleye Ndoye. Ulm went the three-point route, using long shots by Sosa and Schwethelm to eventually tie 16-16 before Paris stuck with its inside play and free throws to score the last 8 points of the first quarter and lead 24-16. Ulm immediately matched those 8 points - with Schwethelm and Daniel Theis hitting from downtown, this time - to tie again 24-24. Schwethelm's next triple got Ulm a lead and Clyburn's first stretched it to 29-34. The visitors kept doing it from downtown, with Per Guenther joining the fun, as they completed a 9-27 second quarter to lead 33-43 at half. A pair of baskets by Williams, a triple by Ewing and a layup but newly acquired Brown quickly got Paris within 44-45 after the break, but with the help of Cameron Long's three-pointer, Ulm was able to retain a 51-58 edge after 30 minutes. The visitors answered all Paris points through a low-scoring first part of the final quarter and then used an 0-8 run ending with Schwethelms's fourth three-pointer to to zoom back in front 56-69. The closest Paris got ater that was 66-73, which Sosa answered from downtown as the visitors danced home to Ulm with a double-digit victory.

Head Coaches

BEUGNOT, GREGOR
Paris Levallois
"We have to make progression in some details. Those details build great teams. We look better, but the players have to understand that we need to fight on the court. The visitors wanted the game more than us."
LEIBENATH, THORSTEN
Ratiopharm Ulm
"We are very happy to beat Paris Levallois. We played them with respect, it was an important game. We had a really good game, and now we are 2-1."

Players

WILLIAMS, JAWAD
Paris Levallois
"It was a really tough game. We had a lack of concentration, not lack of confidence. We have to be better. We are going to work a lot to be better and better."
SCHWETHELM, PHILIPP
Ratiopharm Ulm
"It was a hard game. After long video sessions, we did a good job. The key tonight was the defense. Thanks to that, we had the opportunity to take good shots."
