KK Zagreb Croatia came out strong on Day 2 of the Nike International Junior Tournament in Barcelona, routing FMP 86-65 at the Palau Sant Jordi on Friday afternoon. Zagreb remains perfect with a 2-0 record while FMP fell to 0-2 in Group A. FMP was on top in the first half but Zagreb, making its debut in the tournament, came up with a huge second half, holding FMP to only 24 points while scoring 56 to decide the game. Dominik Mavra exploded with 31 points and 8 rebounds for Zagreb while Mario Hezonja added 20 and Dario Saric finished with 17 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. Stefan Popovski-Turanjanin scored 12 points for FMP and NIkola Jankovic added 10. Tomorrow Zagreb will take on Fenerbache-Ulker while FMP will seek its first win against INSEP.

FMP made the first run of the game going 15-8 after 7 minutes behind three pointers by Popovski-Turanjanin and Nikola Pavlovic. After FMP's Dusan Ristic scored in the paint and Nemanja Bezbradica hit a jumper, the team took a 17-26 advantage and FMP cruised to an 11 point half-time lead, 30-41. But things changed in the second half, when Zagreb went on a 14-2 burst, capped by a three pointer by Mavra, to take the lead 44-43. Saric, running the game for Zagreb, dished assists left and right, as his teammates connected from the arc, and with 6 minutes to go Mavra scored another three pointer to open the gap to 66-56. FMP fought back but couldn't convert its opportunities, allowing Zagreb to widen the lead and take a second win in a row.
