In a do-or-die duel for a berth in semifinals, Cedevita Zagreb soared in the third quarter and managed to punch its ticket over Canarias Basketball Academy on Saturday at the Belgrade Tournament with a 62-76 win. The win allows Cedevita to improve to 2-1 in Group B and will be in semis regardless of the result from the game between Partizan Belgrade and Mega Vizura Belgrade as all four teams entered the last game with 1-1 records. A 5-19 run in the third quarter put Cedevita ahead for good after a close first half. Lovro Mazalin led the winners with 18 points, Luka Zivko added 17 and Karlo Miksic had 14. For Canarias, Chris Tang had 17 points.

The first quarter of the game was rather balanced despite the fact that Cedevita pulled away to 5-11 after Karlo Miksic's three. Canarias reacted fast and Chris Tang blasted a three for 12-15. After 10 minutes of battle, Cedevita just dominated by two, 20-22. The second quarter showed the same trend. Both teams held their ground as Canarias this time managed to jump ahead, 24-22, but Cedevita reacted and the teams hit the lockerroom with a 34-37 Cedevita edge at the break. Things changed in the third period. After another balanced start, Cedevita soared with a 5-19 run in the second half of the period led by Miksic that put the Croatians well on their way to the win, 43-59 after 30 minutes. In the last quarter, Canarias tried it hard but Cedevita was clearly in control and the difference just got larger despite the Croatians' 23 turnovers by the end of the last quarter. In the last minutes Canarias reacted again but it was already toolate and Cedevita cruised into semis.
