Pivovarna Lasko boosted its chances for survival in Group B on Wednesday even as it probably doomed those of Oostende with a 76-68 home victory on Tuesday. After six straight losses between the ULEB Cup and the Adriatic League at home, Pivovarna could at last celebrate a win with its loyal fans. Even though after the first 20 minutes it looked like the Belgians had enough options for the final win, the hosts came back in the second half to triumph. Kenyan Weaks led the hosts with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Dragan Dojcin and Vladimir Popovic added 11 each. For Oostende, Tony Dorsey nailed 18, Rimantas Kaukenas and Virgil Stanescu added 16 each. With the win, Pivovarna improves to 3-3 in Group B while Oostende remains winless at 0-6.

The start of the game saw a better Oostende, which started more relaxed and jumped ahead 3-8. Until the last seconds of the first period, the Belgians were ahead, and in the second quarter it was also them who paced the game. With a good defense, but mostly thanks to the lack of concentration of the Slovenians in offense, who in the second period only scored 11 points, Oostende went into the lockerrooms ahead by 8, 33-41. The break had the desired effect on Pivovarna as it looked like another team after resumption. Weaks had only scored 9 points in the first half and becamse a scoring monster in the second to bring his team to a 45-45 tie. From then on, the hosts set the tempo of the game and the trio Dorsey, Kaukenas and Stanescu could do little from that point. With 5 minutes to go, Lasko was already 13 points ahead, 70-57, aven though they decreased to 7 points after an unsportsmanlike foul by Popovic, 70-63.With a timeout though, head coach Predrag Kruscic settled things down and his players managed to cruise until the end of the game.
