Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade tipped off the Euroleague Basketball Nike International Junior Tournament - Milan with a 78-63 victory over Cajasol Seville in the first game of the tourney. Aleksandar Aranitovic led the way for Crvena Zvezda with 17 points while Vojislav Stojanovic nailed five three-pointers for 15 points in the first game in Group A. Stefan Lazarevic added 13 points, six rebounds and three assists for the winners while Nikola Rakicevic added 10 points. Maksim Salash was Cajasol’s leading scorer with 22 points to go with seven rebounds while Diego Gallardo had 15 points and Carlos Hidalgo scored 12. The game was even for the whole first quarter, which ended deadlocked at 18-18. Cajasol was leading 25-21 when Crvena Zvezda went on an 18-6 run to go ahead 39-31. The Serbian club was ahead 42-34 at halftime. The lead swelled to 47-34 early in the third quarter before Cajasol began to fight back. Seville cut the margin to five points but trailed 59-48 after three quarters. Cajasol scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter to pull within 59-55, but back-to-back three-pointers by Stojanovic and Aranitovic made it a 10-point game at 65-55 with six minutes left. Salash would make two three-pointers but Cajasol did not get closer than six points the rest of the way.
