Power Electronics Valencia stayed undefeated in Group B by edging Hemofarm Stada 75-71 at home on Tuesday. Power VLC had already became the Group B champion and improved to 5-0. Power VLC entered the foul bonus really early and free throws by Marjanovic and Bojan Krstovic put Hemofarm back ahead, 10-14. Martinez and Claver struck from downtown to tie the game again, 16-16. Hemofarm did not panic, however, as a dunk by Markovic and back-to-back layups by Macvan gave the guests a 18-23 edge after 10 minutes. Macvan scored again early in the second quarter and a big triple by Pavkovic made it a double-digit game, 18-28, after a 2-12 run. Lishchuk stepped up with a layup that Martinez followed with free throws to bring Power VLC back to life, 22-28. Krstovic buried a three-pointer but Power VLC found a go-to guy in Marinovic. He had 7 points in a 13-0 run that Claver capped with 4-of-4 free throws, good for a 35-31 lead. Pavkovic sank his second triple but a red hot Marinovic boosted the hosts' lead to 40-34. Markovic and Macvan stepped up for Hemofarm but Toko Shengelia allowed Power VLC to keep a 43-39 halftime edge.

Marjanovic dunked it and Markovic added free throws to keep Hemofarm as close as 48-45. Florent Pietrus shined with a three-pointer but Milos Borisov followed a layup with free throws to get the guests even close at 51-49. “It was not a good game. We have to go on working with our philosophy. No game is easy and Hemofarm is a good team, but we didn’t play to our level.”
KARADZIC, STEVAN
Hemofarm Stada
"I want to congratulate Valencia for the victory. We played very bad defense in the second quarter, and it was a big problem for us. I think we had a chance in the first half for a good result. In the second half we played better defense, but we have a lot of problems in offense. Our three-point shooting was very bad and we had open shots. In the last two minutes we had a chance to win but we took bad decisions in offense."

MARINOVIC, MARKO

“It’s always important to win, we always want to win, and it’s more special because we did it with young players for many minutes. We played good basketball. For me it’s always good to do it, but I’m an 11-year pro and I know we have to stay calm and help as much as we can.”
