Triumph Lyubertsy became the only beaten team in Group E by thrashing Allianz Swans Gmunden 53-83 in Austria on Tuesday. Triumph won the big battle between the two undefeated teams in this group and improved to 3-0 while Gmunden dropped to 2-1 and now ties with Buducnost for the second place in this group. Terrell Lyday led the winners with 20 points. Ognjen Askrabic added 13 while Fedor Likholitov had 11 for Triumph. Deteri Mayes had 14 points for Gmunden, but nobody else scored in double digits for the hosts. Even with that, Gmunden stayed in the game for 15 minutes, as Kevin Johnson got the hosts within 26-29 midway through the second quarter. Likholitov led a 2-12 run that helped Triumph to get a 32-48 halftime margin. Gmunden collapsed after the break, as Mire Chatman, Askrabic and Nikola Vasic led a 6-20 run that broke the game open, 38-68. Gmunden never recovered and Triumph left the court knowing it is the team to win in its ULEB Cup regular season group.

Gmunden had a strong start, as Mayes stroke from downtown while Andreas Hemilgk added a second-chance layup for a 5-4 lead. Andreiy Komarovski hit a triple but a 7-0 run that Johnson capped with a three-point play put Gmunden back ahead, 12-9. Lyday had 5 quick points but Mayes still kept the hosts ahead, 19-16. Igor Zamanski scored and Uros Slokar added free throws for a 19-20 Triumph edge after 10 minutes. Lyday kept pacing Triumph early in the second quarter while Komarovski buried another triple for a 22-29 edge. Johannes Kienesberger and Johnson got the hosts within 26-29, but Triumph kept its momentum going. Likholitov led a 2-12 run that allowed the guests to get a double-digit lead, 30-45, while a triple by Askrabic made it a 16-point game, 32-48, at halftime. Triumph kept rolling after the break, as Lyday, Likholitov and Askrabic allowed the guests to get a 34-55 margin. Gmunden kept struggling to score while Chatman and Askrabic broke the game open, 36-61. Rod Flowers tried to change things with a basket but Vasic had 6 points in a 0-7 run that made it a 30-point game, 38-68. Johnson and Florien Schoninger stepped up for Gmunden but Triumph had sealed the outcome, 47-73, after 30 minutes. Triumph slowed down its offense in the final period, while a three-pointer by Vasic allowed the guests to keep a 51-78 margin after 6 minutes. Everything was said and done up to that point, as Triumph only allowed 6 points in the fourth quarter to leave Austria with a massive road win.

Head Coaches

GONNEN, ROBERT
Swans Gmunden
2We were beaten by a better team. Our guys played as hard as they could but we weren't good enough."
EREMIN, STANISLAV
Triumph Lyubertsy
"We prepared seriously because we saw them play against Galil Elyon, they had spirit, quality and leadership. In the first ten minutes we did not play the defense we liked to. Then we used our potential and the result came."

Players

HUTTER, PETER
Swans Gmunden
"They are a better team than Khimki Moscow two years ago. Of course we hoped that we could surprise them, the difference should not be that big."
ZAMANSKIY, IGOR
Triumph Lyubertsy
"We did not play good defense in the first 10 minutes, from the second quarter on the defense was better."
