Erol Ersek stepped up off the Bayern bench with nine points for a 57-52 lead, which was 58-55 after three quarters. The final 10 minutes was a back-and-forth battle with 11 lead changes. Bayern went scoreless for 2 minutes and Betis built its biggest lead 65-72. Betis failed to score the next 3 minutes and Bayern reclaimed the lead 74-72. There were three more lead changes before Vladimir Pinchuk hit two free throws to put Bayern ahead 82-81 with 14 seconds left. Pluta came down and hit a jumper over the Bayern big men with 3.7 seconds left to make it 82-83. And then Weidemann turned the ball over on the inbounds to give Betis the win.
