Marius Grigonis - Zalgiris - Final Four Istanbul 2012Zalgiris Kaunas grabbed a 107-76 victory Thursday over Team China in the 2012 Nike International Junior Tournament at the Abdi Ipekci Arena. The win gave Zalgiris a 1-0 record in Group B while Team China dropped to 0-1. In Day Two action on Friday, Zalgiris will take on Fenerbache Ulker while Team China will aim to get its first win facing the reigning champions KK Zagreb. Rokas Gustys tallied 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Zalgiris while Justas Tamulis had 18 points and Mantvydas Staselis chipped in with 16 points. Team China saw Shang Gao led the way with 32 points and six boards and Huaibo Dai added 13 points. Zalgiris wasted little time to take over the game. Leading 12-10, Zalgiris went on a 17-3 run for a 33-15 gap after one quarter. Zalgiris kept the momentum and regularly increased the gap and was never challenged in its first game.
