Denis Krestinin - JT Lietuvos Rytas - Final Four Istanbul 2012Lietuvos Rytas is strong in the race for a spot in the final of the 10th Nike International Junior Tournament after a 75-66 win over FC Barcelona Regal in Day 2 of the games on a Friday afternoon at Abdi Ipekci arena in Istanbul, Turkey. With this win Rytas took a 2-0 record and matched with Crvena Zvezda for the first place, while BCN-Regal fell to 0-2 sharing the third spot with Anadolu Efes. Tomorrow Zvezda and Rytas will fight for the top spot and the ticket to the title game while Efes and BCN-Regal will try to avoid a tournament with no wins. Augustinas Jankaitis and Denis Krestinin had 16 points each for the winners while the the first added 13 rebounds. Tautvydas Jodelis finished with 13 points. Aleksandr Zhigulin had 16 points for the losing side, Nick Spires added 14 with 9 rebounds and Oriol Pauli added 11. BCN-Regal used a strong first quarter finish to take a 15-24 lead, but Jodelis and Jankaitis found a good rhythm and helped Rytas finish the first half down by just four points, 34-38. To the second half only one team showed up as Rytas limited its opponent to only 4 points in the next 10 minutes, while igniting a big run to finish the quarter with a 24-4 win and a 58-42 lead. BCN-Regal never found the way to bounce back in the game and watched Rytas celebrate another key win on its way to the deciding game tomorrow with Zvezda.
