Spars Sarajevo set up a showdown for a spot in the final of the ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT in Rome by winning its second straight game in Group B with a 60-76 victory over Virtus Bologna. Adnan Arslanagic scored 19 points as Spars improved to 2-0, pulling even with Unicaja Malaga going into the teams’ showdown for first place later Sunday. Edin Atic added 16 points, Atif Durak scored 12 and Fahrudin Manjgafic chipped in 10 points for Spars. Bologna dropped to 0-2 despite Alberto Conti scoring 16 points while Andrea Graziani had 14 points, Danilo Petrovic tallied 13 points and Roberto Vercellino collected three points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in a losing effort.

Atic scored six points as Sarajevo opened an 0-10 lead. The gap was 2-14 and grew to 6-22. Bologna managed to trim the deficit to 10-22 but trailed 10-24 after 10 minutes. Petrovic’s three-point play cut the gap to 15-24 and Bologna trimmed the margin to 22-29. Conti scored seven points in an 11-2 Bologna run to pull within 33-34. But Spars finished the first half with the final 11 points to lead 33-45 going into the break.

Sarajevo added the first three points of the second half to increase the lead to 15 points. Spars would not let Bologna back into the game as Virtus cut the gap to 39-51 but trailed 41-56. Sarajevo was up 45-57 after 30 minutes. Spars continued to keep up the pressure and increased the advantage to 50-69. Bologna was able to put together an 8-2 run to make it 58-71, but there were less than three minutes to play and Bologna did not have enough to mount a final comeback.
