U18 Maccabi Teddy Tel Aviv fought back from a 15-point deficit to beat U18 Get Better Academy Prague 73-65 to pick up its first victory at the EUROLEAGUE BASKETBALL ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Qualifying Tournament Marko Ivkovic Belgrade. Tomer Porat collected 24 points and 9 rebounds to lead Maccabi, which improved to 1-1 in Group B. Amit Ebo collected 23 points including 4 three-pointers for Maccabi, which will finish up group play against U18 Spars Sarajevo. GBA dropped to 1-1 despite Krystof Kulcak picking up 20 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists. GBA’s final group game will be against U18 Mega Bemax Belgrade.

Ebo knocked down two three-pointers as Maccabi pulled ahead 10-6. Yoro Sidibe stepped up for GBA with a three-pointer and putback and David Javorsky nailed a long ball for a 10-14 lead. Ondrej Vycha and Jakub Slavik both also hit from long range and GBA pushed ahead 13-23. The advantage was 17-25 after 10 minutes. Maccabi cut the deficit to 21-25 but Marek Welsch drained three three-pointers as the lead was up to 25-36. Kulcak added two more baskets for GBA and the Prague club was up 27-42 with the gap being 30-42 at the break. Welsch’s basket early in the second half had the lead up to 14 points 32-46. But Porat and Ebo combined for 16 points in a 20-6 close to the third quarter with the teams knotted at 52-52. Adam Ben Bassat finished the comeback as Maccabi opened the fourth quarter with the first quarter for a 54-52 lead. Kulcak twice answered with baskets and then nailed a three-pointer with 5:15 minutes left for a 59-61 lead. Maccabi followed with the next nine points - including a steal and layup from Ebo and a three-point play from Porat - in building a 68-61 advantage with 2 minutes left. Kulcak finally snapped GBA’s 4 minute scoreless stretch to make it 68-63. But Eidan Alber hit two free throws with 20 seconds left to ice the game.
