Brose Baskets had a pleasent night at home when it thrashed winless BK Ventspils by 100-51. A storm led by Tibor Pleiss launched the hosts to an early 20-4 and they never looked back. The wins boosts Brose
Baskets to a 4-1 record, but CEZ Nymburk's win over Lauretana Biella, leaves all options open forthe last week in Group H. Meanwhile, Venstpils drops another one and is 0-5. Beckham Wyrick led the winners with 16 points, Pleiss added 15, amd Elton Brown and Predrag Suput had 11 apiece. For the losers, Dairis Bertans had 21 points.
Anton Gavel's three and four straight points by Tibor Pleiss made it a 7-0 start for Brose Baskets. Dairis Bertans finally replied from Venstpils' side, but Pleiss, unstoppable, added another dunk and free
throws to soon make it a double-digit lead for the hosts, 14-4. Pleiss kept pacing Brose Baskets as he was up to 14 points in his personal column when the scoreboard reflected a 20-4. Bertans scored again to
show some vital signs for Venstpils when it was 21-6, but no bigger news arrived when the first quarter reached its ending, 33-11. Nothing changed in the second quarter. A steamroller named Brose Baskets
quick jumped to a 40-15 lead as all players on court contributed in offense. At the same time, Bertans, the main guy in offense for Venstpils, was now on the bench. Things didn't change much and by the
halftime break, Brose Baskets dominated by 30 points, 52-22.
It was the same story all over again in the third period. A 15-4 run with points by Beckham Wyrick and Predrag Suput launched Brose Baskets to new heights, 67-26. Bertans kept adding points for Venstpils and
this time Arturs Berzins joined in, but Gavel blasted athree to put an end to the third period, 78-35. In the last period, Ventspils managed to hold Brose Baskets at more reasonable numbers as the hosts
wouldn't force it too much. Ventspils' night from the arc, 2 of 12 at that point, wasn't helping either and the 23 assists of the hosts against the 3 by the guests pretty much spoke for itself. Brose Baskets
was combining for an overall index rating of 132 while Ventspils got stuck at 26. In the last minutes, the hosts pushed a little harder and wuickly went up with a 19-10 run en route to a clear win.
