Joventut led 35-44 at halftime but Laviña broke the game in a 0-8 run that gave his team a 39-52 lead. Popovic scored the game's first two baskets and his score gave Joventut the lead 5-11. Bavcic hit the first of his threes to cut the margin to 8-11. But Mallet knocked down two long balls to push the advantage to 8-17. Kyle Hill opened the third quarter and Williams followed to make it a 39-44 game only to see Lavina start an 0-8 run which made it a 39-52 game. Two foul shots by Fernandez saw DKV pull ahead 40-56. The Bosnians tried to come back with a three-ball by Hill and a three-point play by Rahimic cutting the lead to 48-60. Another 0-8 surge followed though and the advantage was 20 points again. Rahimic cut the deficit to 50-68 after three periods. Eduardo Hernandez-Sonseca opened the fourth quarter with a basket and a three-ball by Fernandez and a Mallet score pushed the advantage to 50-75. Lavina then knocked down two three-balls for a 53-81 lead and his two foul shots made it 58-85 with just minutes remaining. The Spaniards relaxed the rest of the game as Bosna scored the final 10 points to make it a bit more respectable.

"Me and the players got a real basketball lesson. I feel responsible for the loss, but I hope the players will realize that they can play against a strong team like Joventut only with strenght and discipline and only if they fight for every point."
GARCIA RENESES, AITO
DKV Joventut Badalona
"Bosna has a shorter team than us and we were able to use this factor to our advantage. But we were able to secure the win in this match only after we stopped their outside players."
