U18 Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade reached the final of the EUROLEAGUE BASKETBALL ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Qualifying Tournament Marko Ivkovic Belgrade for the seventh straight season with a 77-62 victory over U18 Stellazzurra Basketball Academy Rome. Stefan Momirov led the way with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for Zvezda, which finished Group A with a 3-0 record and has not lost in its last 29 games at the ANGT Belgrade. Aleksa Uskokovic added 12 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals for the 2014 continental champion, which will take on the winner of Group B in Sunday’s final. Lazar Nikolic collected 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals for Stellazzurra but it was not enough as the team finished with a 1-2 record.

Stellazzurra was up 2-6 and Michele Ebeling’s three-pointer made it 7-9. Uskokovic scored his first five points and Zvezda nosed ahead 14-11. The lead switched hands two more times with the host team using an 8-0 spurt to take a 22-15 lead, which was 22-17 after 10 minutes. Arijan Lakic’s three-point play pushed the Zvezda cushion to 25-19. Stellazzurra was able to pull within 27-26 on a Michele Serpilli three-pointer. And the gap was 30-28 when Momirov nailed a three-pointer and a steal and breakaway dunk to spark an 11-2 run for a 41-30 lead. The advantage was 44-35 at half-time. Bojan Tomasevic came off the Zvevda bench in the third quarter to score four points and Momirov drained a three-pointer in an 11-2 surge for a 55-37 cushion. Emanuele Trapani answered with a three-ball and Kurt Cassar made four free throws but Stellazzurra still trailed 60-44 after three quarters. The Zvezda push continued in the fourth quarter with Uskokovic and Momirov both knocking down three-pointers as the advantage grew to 71-48. Nikolic scored five quick points and a Jordan Bayehe basket made it 72-57. But Stellazzurra would not get closer the rest of the game.
