Spartak St. Petersburg finished Group G with a perfect record and knocked Cholet Basket out of Last 16 contention with a 68-76 victory. Cholet would have advanced with a victory or a loss for ratiopharm Ulm, which played at Cibona. However after Spartak put Cholet away, the French side learned Ulm came from 24 down to win and eliminate Cholet. Spartak takes its 6-0 record into Last 16 Group K. Cholet bows out with a 3-3 record. Cholet seemed on its way when it established a 10-point third quarter lead, however reigning Eurocup MVP Patrick Beverley came through with a few big plays in a 0-19 run that bridged the third and fourth quarters and put Spartak in control for good. Cholet closed to within 5 in the closing minutes, but Spartak held strong. The trio of Loukas Mavrokefalides, Josh Carter and Beverley scored 15 points apiece and Zach Wright tallied 11 points and 10 assists for the winners. Derrick Obasohan led Cholet with 19 points, Karim Souchu scored 13 and Travon Bryant had 12 in defeat.

A basket by Terrell Evrett and a triple from Souchu lifted Cholet to a 5-0 start, however Beverley sparked Spartak with a three and soon Carter made another to put the visitors up 7-8. A pair of baskets by Mavrokefalides and a three-point play from Wright completed a 0-12 run as Spartak coasted to 7-15. Obasohan hit back from long distance for Cholet only to see Vladimir Dragicevic convert a basket-plus-foul to lift Spartak’s advantage to 10. Obasohan and Souchu came together to bring Cholet within 4 and Bryant scored soon after, but Wright put Spartak on top 20-27 after 10 minutes. Mavrokefalides scored the first 4 points of the second quarter before Beverley increased the lead to 23-36. Bryant and Carl Ona Embo took Cholet within 29-37. A.J. Slaughter started a 7-0 Cholet run to make it a 2-point game on a Marcus Goree free throw. Mavrokefalides lifted the visitors to 38-42 at halftime.

Obasohan scored twice in the first two minutes of the second half to bring Cholet within a basket each time. Luc-Arthur Vebobe tied it at 46-46 before 5 straight points by Souchu resulting from a Dragicevic technical foul put the hosts back ahead, 51-46. An Obasohan tip-in extended put Cholet ahead by 10. Spartak would not quit and triples by Carter and Nikita Kurbanov brought the visitors within 57-55 through three quarters. Beverley opened the fourth quarter with a three-pointer to put Spartak ahead again. Wright added a three and Beverley had a steal and layup to cap a 0-19 charge bridging the third and fourth quarter to make it 57-66. Bryant gave Cholet hope with a basket followed by 2 free throws to make it a 5-point game, but Beverley countered with a three-pointer and another by Carter with just under three minutes remaining made it 61-72. A Rudy Jomby three-pointer changed little for Cholet, which lost and needed to turn its attention to Zagreb to learn its fate.
